How to reset or factory restore Emporia Connect device?
The most common and recommended ways to reset or factory restore an Emporia Connect device are:
1. Using the built-in "Resolve" feature:
Emporia Connect devices have a built-in "Resolve" app that allows you to reset or factory restore the device by following these steps:
a. Open the "Resolve" app on your Emporia Connect device.
b. On the main screen, tap on the "Reset Device" option.
c. You may be prompted to enter a device password. If you do not know the password, you can reset it by following the instructions in the "Reset Device Password" section.
d. Once you have entered the password (if applicable), you will be prompted to confirm the reset. If you confirm the reset, the device will begin the reset process and this will erase all user data and settings.
2. Using a computer:
You can also reset or factory restore an Emporia Connect device using a computer by following these steps:
a. Make sure your computer has the appropriate drivers installed for your Emporia Connect device.
b. Connect your Emporia Connect device to the computer via USB.
c. Open the device manager on your computer.
d. Expand the "Ports & Devices" category.
e. Right-click on the Emporia Connect device and select "Properties".
f. Expand the "Interfaces" section and select "COM ".
g. Right-click on the new COM port and select "Properties".
h. Select "Serial Port" and then "Properties".
i. In the "Tools" tab, select "Collection" and then "Properties".
j. Select "Place Only".
k. In the "Target CPU Family" section, select your device.
l. Click "Put..." to enter the recovery image onto your device commercial flash drive.
m. Click "Put..." to enter the recovery image onto your device commercial flash drive.
n. Reboot your device.
o. Press and hold the "Volume-up" key and "Power" key simultaneously.
p. Release the keys and wait for the device to bootup.
q. Once the device boots up, you can either enter the recovery image or wipe the data using serial monitor.
Please note that resetting or factory restoring an Emporia Connect device should only be done as a last resort and it may delete all user data and settings on the device. If possible, it's recommended to backup any important data before restoring an Emporia Connect device.
