How to reset or factory restore Asus PadFone device?
Asus PadFone is a type of smartphone / tablet which runs under Android operating system. There are multiple ways to reset or factory restore an Asus PadFone device. Below are the commonly used and recommended methods to reset or factory restore an Asus PadFone device:
Method 1: Using Recovery Mode
1. Turn off your Asus PadFone device.
2. Press and hold down the power button for 20 seconds or until the device restarts.
3. Releases the power button and press the volume-up button and power button again.
4. Release both buttons when you see the recovery mode logo on the screen.
5. In the recovery mode, select "Wipe data/factory data" with the Volume Down button.
6. Press and hold the Power button to confirm the action.
7. Owner password may pop up, enter it if you have set one.
8. The device will now reset to its factory settings.
Method 2: Using USB Debugging
1. Connect your Asus PadFone device to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Go to Developer Options on your device, if not already enabled, by going to About Phone, then tap Build Number several times until you see "You are now a developer!"
3. Turn on USB Debugging on your device, by going to Developer Options > USB Debugging.
4. Open a command prompt on your computer.
5. Navigate to the directory where the ADB tools are installed.
6. Type "adb devices" to ensure that the computer can recognize the device.
7. Type "adb reboot recovery" to restart the device in recovery mode.
8. In the recovery mode, select "Wipe data/factory data" with the Volume Down button.
9. Press and hold the Power button to confirm the action.
10. Owner password may pop up, enter it if you have set one.
11. The device will now reset to its factory settings.
Method 3: Using Stock Firmware
1. Download the stock firmware for your Asus PadFone device from Asus's official website.
2. Connect your device to the computer with a USB cable.
3. Transfer the firmware file to the internal storage of the device.
4. Go to Settings > About phone > Build Number, and tap it several times until you can see "You are now a developer!"
5. Go to Settings > Developer Options > OEM Updating.
