What is a TSC number?
TSC number refers to the Teachers Service Commission number. It is a unique identification number assigned to all teachers in Kenya by the Teachers Service Commission. is used to track teachers’ employment and service history, and to manage their benefits.
Requirements for Application
- Valid academic and professional certificates: The teacher must have valid academic and professional certificates that meet the TSC’s requirements.
- National identity card: The teacher must have a valid national identity card.
- Bank slip: The teacher must have a bank slip showing payment of the application fee.
- One passport size photo: The teacher must provide one passport size photo.
- KRA pin: The teacher must have a KRA pin.
- GP69 form: The teacher must have a completed GP69 form.
- Certificate of good conduct: The teacher must have a valid certificate of good conduct from the National Police Service.
- Entry and work permits for non-Kenyans: If the teacher is not a Kenyan citizen, they must have a valid entry and work permit from the Kenyan government.
How to apply
- Go to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) website.
- Click on the “Apply for TSC Number” link.
- Create an account and log in.
- Complete the application form.
- Upload the required documents.
- Pay the application fee.
- Submit your application.
Once you have submitted your application, the TSC will process your application and send you an email notification when your application has been approved. You will then be able to print your number from the commissions website.

The cost of applying in Kenya is Ksh 1,000. This fee is non-refundable. You can pay the application fee through M-Pesa .You will also be required to pay Ksh 200 cyber fee at Nikonet.
