How to reset or factory restore Thuraya SG-2520 device?
The most common and recommended ways to reset or factory restore a Thuraya SG-2520 device are:
1. Resetting via soft reset: This involves performing a soft reset to clear the device's memory and restore it to its default settings. To perform a soft reset, you will need to press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds until the power light starts flashing. Once the power light is flashing, release the button and wait for the device to turn off. After the device has turned off, unplug it and press the power button again to turn it back on. The device will now be reset to its default settings and all settings will be cleared.
2. Resetting via secure code: This involves performing a factory reset to restore the device to its original factory settings. To perform a factory reset using the secure code, you will need to use a special secure code that is provided by the manufacturer. Sim card is locked by default code which is 000000 and we can reset it by using a service terminal. Once you have the correct code, enter it into the device and follow the prompts to complete the factory reset. Again, after the device has been factory reset, all settings will be cleared and the device will be restored to its original factory settings.
3. Factory Reset via Service terminal: This involves using the service terminal to reset the device to its original factory settings. To perform a factory reset via service terminal, follow these steps:
a. Connect your device to the computer using a USB cable.
b. Launch the Thuraya Service Terminal software.
c. Click on the "Factory Reset" option.
d. Enter the password (usually 000000) to access the reset menu.
e. Enter the serial number of your device.
f. Select the language of the reset menu.
g. Click on "Yes, factory reset".
h. Wait for the device to complete the factory reset.
It's important to note that factory resetting the device will erase all user data, including saved contacts and settings, so make sure to backup your data before performing a factory reset. Also, it's recommended that the device should be connected to a stable network during the reset process.
