How to reset or factory restore Samsung E1170 device?
The Samsung E1170 is a basic mobile phone released in 2007, which may no longer be supported by the official Samsung website and developers. However, I can provide you with some common methods to reset or factory restore this device.
Please Note: Before you start the process, make sure to backup all important data, as a factory reset will erase all data on your device. Additionally, some of these methods may require a PC or a USB drive.
Method 1: Using Home Button + Volume Up + Power Key
1. Turn off your Samsung E1170.
2. Press and hold the Home button and the Volume Up button.
3. Press the Power button until the phone starts to boot.
4. Release the Power button and wait for the Samsung logo to appear on the screen.
5. Press the Volume Down button until you see "factory data reset" on the screen.
6. Press the Power button to select this option.
7. Select the language and wait for the phone to boot.
8. Follow the onscreen instructions to reset the device to its factory settings.
Note: This method assumes that your Samsung E1170 supports the Home button. If your device does not have a Home button, skip to Method 2.
Method 2: Using PC
1. Connect your Samsung E1170 to your PC using a USB cable.
2. Download the Samsung Mobile Repair Software from the Samsung website.
3. Install the software on your computer.
4. Go to the Samsung E1170's website and download the Firmware update for your device.
5. Install the Firmware update using the Samsung Mobile Repair Software.
6. Go to the Samsung Mobile Repair Software's "Back Up and Restore" tab.
7. Select "Factory Data Reset" from the menu.
8. Follow the onscreen instructions to reset the device to its factory settings.
Note: This method assumes that your Samsung E1170 is connected to a computer with the Samsung Mobile Repair Software and Firmware update available. If you don't have access to these, you may need to try Method 3.
Method 3: Using Physical Keys
1. Turn off your Samsung E1170.
2. Press and hold the Volume Down button, Power button, and Home button simultaneously.
3. Release the Home button and press the Volume Up button until you see "factory data reset" on the screen.
4. Press the Volume Down button until you see "factory data reset confirmation" on the screen.
5. Press the Volume Up button to select "YES" or "OK."
6. The phone will now erase all data on the device and boot back up. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the device as if it were new.
Note: This method assumes that your Samsung E1170 supports the Home button, Volume Up button, and Volume Down button. If your device does not have a Home button or other buttons supported for factory reset, you may need to try other methods.
I hope these methods help you reset or factory restore your Samsung E1170 device. If you encounter any issues or errors while attempting to reset your device, please let me know, and I'll do my best to assist you.
