How to reset or factory restore Samsung B510 device?
The Samsung B510 is an older phone, but it is a popular one and there are many ways to reset or factory reset it. Here are some of the most common and recommended methods you could try:
1. Using the home button method:
a. Turn off the device.
b. Press and hold the home button for around 15 seconds until you see the restore options menu.
c. Select the "Restart phone" option.
d. However, if you tried to press any other buttons before you saw the restore options menu, ignore this step.
e. The device will restart in recovery mode.
f. Then select "Wipe data/factory reset" and confirm the action.
g. Wait for the device to restore, which may take a few minutes.
2. Using the ODIN method:
a. Download and install Samsung Odin on your computer.
b. Connect the Samsung B510 device to your computer using a USB cable.
c. Turn off the device, then press and hold the home button and the power button at the same time for around 15 seconds. Release both buttons and you will get into the recovery mode.
d. Use Odin to download the SPL (pronounced 'supervisor polynomial loader') file specific to the Samsung B510 device. Once you have downloaded the SPL file, put it in a folder named "Download" on the root directory of your device.
e. Then download the PHP and PIT files that you will find in the Download folder on Odin.
f. Using the home button method, go to "Menu > Settings and then select the Backup option.
g. Mount the USB memory drive.
h. Then select "Empty flashpart".
i. Using the home button method again, go to "Menu > Settings and then select "Phone Tools".
j. Select "Recovery Menu".
k. Then select "update firmware".
l. Once the backup is complete, select "I agree".
m. Then select "Start download" and watch the progress bar fill up.
n. Once the download is complete, select "Start recovery".
o. You have now entered recovery mode.
p. Highlight "Splashnew" and select "Yes - Yes".
q. You will now be presented with the SPL file.
r. Highlight "PHP" and select "Yes".
s. Then select "Pit".
t. Highlight "Update Firmware" and select "Yes - Yes".
u. Then select "Download" and choose the PIT file.
v. Once the download is complete, select "Start the update".
w. The device will restart.
3. Using the Remote Wipe Signing method:
a. Install the Samsung Remote Data Wipe App on another device.
b. Connect the Samsung B510 device to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
c. Open the Samsung Remote Data Wipe App and enter the necessary information.
d. The Samsung B510 device will begin the remote wipe process.
