How to reset or factory restore Asus J502 device?
Asus J502 is the model name of ASUS Gaming Laptop that runs on Windows operating system. There might arise certain issues with the laptop that may require resetting or factory restoring the device. If you are facing any technical difficulties, it is recommended to reset or restore the device to its original state before continuing further. Method 1: Performing a System Restore to a Recovery Image
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. Run the following command to open Recovery Image Creator:
" recoveryimage.wim /create:D:\ listdrive.txt"
3. Once the Recovery Image Creator opens, click on "Next" and select the recovery image you want to restore.
4. After the recovery image is selected, click on "Create" and wait for the recovery image to be created.
5. Once the recovery image is created, close the recovery image creator and restart your computer.
6. Press the "Windows+F12" keys together to enter BIOS.
7. Once you are in the BIOS, select "Advanced" and then select "Startup".
8. Under "Startup Type", select "USB" and then exit the BIOS.
9. Connect your Asus laptop to the computer running the recovery image using a USB cable.
10. Once connected, restart your laptop and the recovery image will start loading.
11. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the recovery process.
Method 2: Performing a Hard Drive Reset
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. Run the following command to create a recovery bootable USB device:
"diskpart /listdisk" - this command will list all the disk drives present on your computer. Select the correct disk drive (the one on which your data is stored) and note down the device number.
3. Run the following command to delete all the partitions on the selected disk:
"diskpart /select disk nomber diskpart /erase" - replace "disk number" with the device number of your selected disk drive.
4. Run the following command to create a new partition:
"diskpart /select disk nomber diskpart /create partition primary size=625812616" - replace "disk number" with the device number of your selected disk drive.
5. Run the following command to format the new partition:
"diskpart /select disk nomber diskpart /format fs=ntfs" - replace "disk number" with the device number of your selected disk drive.
6. Run the following command to create a new partition:
"diskpart /select disk nomber diskpart /create partition primary size=625812616" - replace "disk number" with the device number of your selected disk drive.
7. Boot the laptop from the USB device you created earlier.
Method 3: Using Windows Settings to Reset
1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
2. Click on the "Update & Security" pane.
3. Click on the "Recovery" tab.
4. Under "Reset this PC", click on the "Reset now" button.
5. A confirmation message will appear, click on "Reset".
6. Your computer will restart and go through the setup process for a fresh start.
