How to reset or factory restore Pantech Slate device?
Pantech, also known as LG, is a South Korean electronics company. The Pantech Slate is the company's line of Android tablets. In the event that your Pantech Slate device loses all functions or becomes stuck during use, you may need to reset or factory restore the device. There are two common and recommended methods for doing this, which I will explain in detail below.
Method 1: Using the Super User Mode
To reset your Pantech Slate to its factory state using the super user mode, you must first enable the super user mode on the device. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open the "Settings" app on your Pantech Slate device.
2. Scroll down and tap on the "About Phone" option.
3. When prompted, scroll down to the bottom and tap on the "Build Number" option.
4. Enter the "Build Number" many times until the "You Are Now A Developer!" message appears.
5. Go back to the "Settings" app and tap on the "Security" option.
6. Tap on the "Google Settings" option.
7. Tap on the "Factory Data Reset" option.
8. Select the "Yes -- Reset All User Data" option to proceed with the reset.
Note: This method requires a password for the super user mode, if you do not remember the password then you will not be able to proceed.
Method 2: Using its physical button
To reset your Pantech Slate to its factory state using the physical button, you will need an internet connection and a computer. Here's how:
1. Go to the Pantech website and navigate to the "Product Support" section.
2. Search for your Pantech Slate device model and select it from the list.
3. Locate the "Download Firmware" section and download the firmware for your device.
4. Connect your Pantech Slate device to the computer using a USB cable.
5. Run the firmware file on the computer and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the reset.
6. Disconnect the device from the computer and wait for the device to restart.
7. Press and hold the "Volume-Up" button and the "Power" button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until the device reboots.
8. Release both buttons and wait for the device to boot up completely.
9. When the device boots up, you will be prompted to set up the device as if it were new.
Note: This method requires an internet connection, and may take a longer time to reset the device than the first method.
