How to reset or factory restore Oppo R1x device?
Resetting or factory restoring an Oppo R1x device is a useful technique when the device is experiencing performance issues, facing software or app crashes, or when you want to break the device's locked screen pattern. Our recommended and most common ways for resetting Oppo R1x are a Hard Reset and Oppo Team Diagnostic Reset.
**Hard Reset**
* To perform a hard reset, you need to turn off the device and then press and hold the volume up button and the power button. Keep holding the buttons until the Oppo logo appears on the screen. You may then need to enter the PIN when prompted. Wipe Data/Factory Reset is designed to delete all the data on the device, including saved settings and applications. Use this option with caution. Follow these steps to perform a hard reset:
1. Turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button until the device turns off.
2. Press and hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time. Keep holding the buttons until the Oppo logo appears on the screen.
3. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe data/factory reset and then press the power icon to select it.
4. Once the Wipe Data/Factory reset option appears, use the volume buttons to navigate to Yes - delete all user data and settings and then press the power icon to select it.
5. Wait a few minutes for the device to reset.
Note: This will erase all the data from your device, so make sure to back up any important information before resetting the device. Also, make sure to backup the PIN code, if you have enabled the PIN lock screen.
**Oppo Team Diagnostic Reset**
* An diagnostic reset will also reset all the data and settings on the device. However, it will also restore the firmware to an earlier version, which can sometimes help fix any issues with the device. This option requires access to a computer with Oppo Automate program installed and a USB cable for your device. Here's how to do it:
1. Connect your device to the computer via USB cable.
2. Install Oppo Automate on your computer and make sure it's the latest version.
3. Open Oppo Automate on your computer and select your device from the list.
4. Click on the Backup & reset option on the left-hand side of the screen.
5. Select Factory Reset and make sure to check the box that says Prepare the backup first.
6. Click Backup to create a backup of your device.
7. After the backup has been created, select Team Diagnostic Reset and follow the on-screen instructions. These will require you to enter your device's PIN number.
8. Once the reset process has been completed, you can restore the backup you created earlier by clicking Restore on the Backup & reset screen in Oppo Automate.
Note: Make sure to have a backup of your device before performing a diagnostic reset, as all your data will be lost. Also, this method might take longer than a hard reset and you may need a computer to perform it.
