How to reset or factory restore Oppo A17k device?
Oppo A17k is an affordable smartphone that comes with some great features. Despite its great performance, there are times when you may need to reset or factory restore your device, for example, if you lose your data or if your device is slow or unresponsive. In this guide, we will explain the most common and recommended ways to reset or factory restore an Oppo A17k device.
1. Tablet Reset
View the tablet from the front and long press the power bar and the home button simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the tablet powers off. After the tablet turns off, connect the charger to the tablet and turn the tablet back on. After the tablet turns back on, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds until the setting bring-up menu appears on the display. Tap on "Backup & Reset" and then select "Factory data reset". Finally, tap on "OK" to process the reset.
2. Hardware Reset
Hardware reset is the most effective way to reset an Oppo A17k device. It involves physically pressing a button that is located on the side of the phone to erase all the data on the phone. Before you perform a hardware reset, make sure to backup all your important data, as there is no way to recover it afterward. Here are the steps to perform a hardware reset:
1. Switch off the device completely by pressing and holding the power button.
2. Identify the home key and the functional volume key on your device.
3. Keep the home key pressed and the functional volume key pressed and released alternately for about 30 seconds.
4. The device will reboot in recovery mode.
5. In recovery mode, select "Backup & Reset".
6. Select "Factory data reset".
7. Select "Yes" to confirm the reset.
Note: Make sure to not press any other buttons while you are performing the hardware reset, as it can void your phone's warranty.
3. Wipe Cache/Partition
Wipe cache or partition is another way to reset an Oppo A17k device. It involves deleting a specific part of the phone's software that can cause the device to slow down or become unresponsive. Here are the steps to wipe cache or partition:
1. Backup all your important data.
2. Switch off the device completely by pressing and holding the power button.
3. Press and hold the power button and the home button simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the phone enters recovery mode.
4. In recovery mode, select "Wipe data/factory reset".
5. Select "Yes" to confirm the reset.
6. Select "Yes" again to confirm the erasure of data.
7. The device will restart and you can start installing the software again.
Note: Keep in mind that wiping cache or partition only erases the app data and not the system data, so you still need to reset your device as well if you want to start with a clean slate.
Other fact to consider before you reset your Oppo A17k device is to know if the device support OTA(OTA update) or not, as there are some devices that do not support OTA update, in that case, you may have to visit the service center to get the device update.
