How to reset or factory restore Motorola DROID Ultra device?
There are two ways to reset a Motorola DROID Ultra device:
1. Bootloader Reset:
Bootloader is the instruction set that managers the customization of a device, in this case, you can manually reset your device if your phone has bricked or locked it’s bootloader on the custom ROMs you have tested. We assume that you have a working computer with compatible USB drivers and a device recovery tool, and a USB cable besides that you will need the Motorola OEM firmware. Below are the steps to reset Bootloader:
1. Enable USB debugging on your device
Go to Settings > Developer options > Turn on USB debugging.
2. Create a recovery key
You need this in case your computer doesn’t detect your device, which can happen. Using Motorola DROID Ultra ROM, you can create a recovery key to recover your device even if your phone is not recognized by your computer.
3. Boot in fastboot mode
Power off your device and boot your device in fastboot mode.
4. Check if firmware is available
Connect your device to the computer using a USB cable, open a command-line interface, and type `fastboot devices`. Verify if your device is detected. If not diversify your USB port.
5. Restore firmware on your device
Run a `fastboot flash recovery firmware.img`. Remember to suit the firmware name with your device model and OS version.
6. Reboot your device in system.
2. Resetting using System Update:
This process will erase all your data along with your customizations. In case none of the above methods solves your problem or you do not prefer a full reset, this is the next best option.
1. Backup your data:
If there is any data you want to save, now is the time. You can use any cloud service or a secondary device to store your data.
