How to reset or factory restore Micromax X235 device?
Micromax X235 is a smartphone model that was released in 2015, it is powered by the Android 6.0 operating system. However, to be specific about the ROM version, we need to know the carrier you purchased the phone from. If you have lost access to your phone, and have forgotten your password or are facing other issues, you can reset or factory restore your device to its original state. There are multiple ways to do so, and the most common and recommended ways are listed below:
Method 1: Using the Volume Buttons
This method is helpful when your device is fully charged and is refusing to restart. You can use this method to enter recovery mode using the volume buttons. The steps are as follows:
1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the power button.
3. While holding the power button, press the volume up button simultaneously.
4. Keep both buttons pressed until the device restarts in recovery mode.
5. From recovery mode, select 'Factory data reset.'
6. Once you have confirmed the reset, select 'Yes --- Erase all user data/factory data reset.'
7. Your device will now be restored to its original state, and the setup process will begin.
Method 2: Using theoader
The first method requires that your device is fully charged, but with this method, you can charge your device while restoring the ROM. The odin software, also known as an odin tool, is used to flash a new ROM onto your device. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Download the appropriate ROM file for your device and carrier from an authorized website.
2. After downloading the file, connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
3. Open the recover.exe file provided with the ROM package.
4. Click on the "Phone" tab.
5. Click on "Flash Enabled Program Files" (or "Flash pNo").
6. In the "Flash program" dropdown menu, select "Video- package" (AP\_SD\_cache.tar).
7. The ROM file will now be flashed onto your device.
8. When the flashing process is complete, disconnect the device from your computer.
Method 3: Using the Bootloader
This method requires a computer with an appropriate bootloader ROM, a USB cable, and the appropriate bootloader ROM file. To use this method, follow these steps:
1. Download the bootloader ROM file for your device and carrier from an authorized website.
2. After downloading the file, connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
3. Open a command prompt on your computer.
4. In the command prompt, enter the following command:
8327: com1 port hook filter set speed mode
5. Now enter the following command:
8327: com1 port hook raw set format 9600 baud 8 n 1
6. Now connect the device to the computer using the provided cable.
7. Open the Bootloader.exe file provided with the bootloader ROM package.
8. Click on "Backup" to back up your data.
9. After backing up your data, click on "Write Download Program" and select the Bootloader ROM file you have downloaded.
10. Your device will now be restored to its original state, and the setup process will begin.
It is essential to note that all three methods carry risks and can void your device's warranty. Therefore, it is advisable to back up your data before attempting to restore the ROM. Also, make sure to download the ROM file from an authorized website to avoid any malicious software on your device.
