How to reset or factory restore LG C299 device?
The LG C299 is a smart TV, and like any other electronic device, it can sometimes malfunction or become slow. In such cases, a factory reset or a hard reset is the recommended solution.
A factory reset removes all of the settings, applications, and user data from the device, restoring it back to its factory settings. A hard reset, on the other hand, erases all of the data permanently, and the device must be reset to factory settings before it can be used again.
There are two common ways to reset a LG C299 smart TV:
1. Using on-screen options:
- Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source.
- Press and hold the "Home" button on your remote control until the TV menu comes up.
- Select "Factory Data Reset" and confirm the reset by pressing "Yes".
- The TV will start the reset process, which may take around 15-20 minutes.
2. Using a USB flash drive with the LG firmware:
- Go to the LG Support website and download the latest firmware for your TV model. You can use a Google search to find the latest firmware for your TV model.
- Create a USB flash drive with at least 4GB of free space.
- Copy the firmware file onto the USB flash drive.
- Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source.
- Press and hold the "Home" button on your remote control until the TV menu comes up.
- Select "Software Update" and confirm the update by pressing "Yes".
- Connect the USB flash drive to the TV and press "OK".
- Wait for the TV to download and install the new firmware.
It is important to note that a hard reset is recommended only if you have no other option or if you want to completely erase all of the data on the device.
