How to reset or factory restore Lava X81 device?
A factory reset, also known as a master reset, orformat, is the process of erasing all user data, including apps, settings, and preferences, from a Lava X81 device. This is usually done to restore the device to its original state prior to purchase, or address any technical issues that may have occurred. There are two recommended ways to factory reset a Lava X81 device: using the phone’s recovery menu or using a computer.
Method 1: Using the phone’s recovery menu
2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button together for 10 seconds until the device enters recovery mode. You may need to perform a battery pull or charging calibration to access recovery mode.
3. Once in recovery mode, use the Volume Down button to navigate to “Backup and restore”.
4. Select “Delete all user data/factory data” using the Volume Down button and press the Power button.
5. The device will restart and you will be presented with the initial setup screen.
Method 2: Using a computer
Connect the Lava X81 device to your computer using a USB cable. You will need to download the Lava X81 drivers from the manufacturer's website.
2. Open a command prompt on your computer as an administrator.
3. Type “fastboot reboot recovery” and press Enter.
4. Once the device is in recovery mode, select “Backup and restore”.
5. Select “Delete all user data/factory data” and press Enter.
6. The device will restart and you will be presented with the initial setup screen.
It is important to note that, it is always recommended to backup any important data before performing this process, so you won't loose any data. Also keep in mind that, after factory reset you will have to setup your device again, including adding back any personalized settings or applications.
