How to reset or factory restore i-mate Smartphone device?
Resetting or factory restoring a i-mate Smartphone device can be done in various ways depending on the device model and firmware version. However, here are some common and recommended steps to reset a i-mate Smartphone device:
Using Default Password (aka Master Password):
1. Turn off the i-mate Smartphone and remove the SIM card.
2. Press and hold the "1" key until the bootloader menu appears. It may take about 5 or 6 seconds.
3. Choose "Reset phone" or "Wipe data/factory reset" by using the numbers or Volume keys to navigate.
4. Enter the default password, which is usually either "0000" or "1234" and press the "#" key.
5. The device will begin to reset and erase all data. Wait until the process is completed before replacing the SIM card.
Using Volume Keys:
1. Turn off the i-mate Smartphone and remove the SIM card.
2. Press and hold the "Power" key and the "Volume down" key simultaneously until the bootloader menu appears.
3. Choose "Reset phone" or "Wipe data/factory reset" using the Volume keys to navigate.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset process.
5. The device will erase all data and restore to its factory settings. Replace the SIM card once the device is restarted.
Using USB PC Suite:
1. Connect the i-mate Smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
2. Open the i-mate Smartphone's firmware from the PC Suite utility.
3. Click on " President" or "iMEX" menu and then select "Firmware update".
4. Choose "Erase and reset device" and follow the on-screen instructions.
5. The device will erase all data and restore to its factory settings. Insert the SIM card once the device is reset.
It is important to note that using "erase and reset device" from PC SUITE may permanently erase all data on the device without being able to recover it, therefore it is recommended to back up data before performing a reset. Also, these process are compatible only with devices running the latest firmware version available for that device model.
