How to reset or factory restore HTC Shift device?
There are several ways to reset or factory restore a HTC Shift device. Here are the most common and recommended methods:
Method 1: Reset using the Power and Volume keys
1. Turn off your HTC Shift.
2. Press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key at the same time for about 10 seconds.
3. Release the Power key but continue to hold the Volume down key for another 6-12 seconds.
4. The Poison Ivy logo should appear. Press and release the Volume up key once.
5. Wait for the device to reboot.
6. When the device reboots, press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key at the same time for approximately 10 seconds.
7. Release the Power key and press and hold the Volume down key for another 6-12 seconds.
8. Release the Volume down key.
9. Press the Volume up key and hold it for approximately 5 seconds.
10. The device will reboot and go through the HTC bootloader menu.
11. Select the "Factory Data Reset" option and press the Power button to select it.
Method 2: Reset using the HTC Sync Manager via USB cable
1. Connect your HTC Shift to your computer using a USB cable.
2. Open the HTC Sync Manager on your computer.
3. Select "Backup" from the left-hand side of the window.
4. Choose " HTC One Tap Backup Management " from the left-hand side of the window.
5. Select "Restore Tethered Device" from the left-hand side of the window.
6. Connect your HTC Shift to the computer using the USB cable and select it from the drop-down menu.
7. Select "Are you sure?" and click "Restore".
8. Wait for the device to be restored. Once it is finished, you will be prompted to set up your device.
Method 3: Reset using the HTC Easy Flash Tool
1. Download and install the HTC Easy Flash Tool on your computer.
2. Connect your HTC Shift to your computer using a USB cable.
3. Open the HTC Easy Flash Tool and select "Download" from the top-left corner of the window.
4. Select "HTC One Tap Back Management" from the left-hand side of the window.
5. Select the RUU file for your device and click "Download".
6. Wait for the file to be downloaded. Once it is finished, click "Flash".
7. Wait for the device to be restored. Once it is finished, you will be prompted to set up your device.
