How to reset or factory restore Honor X40 GT device?
“Resetting” a device can be confusing, as it refers to different things depending on the context. However, if you mean resetting the phone to its default factory settings, that is generally done to resolve various software or functionality issues. Here are the recommended ways to do so on an Honor X40 GT device:
1. Using the “Recovery Mode”:
* Turn off your phone.
* Press and hold the Volume Key + Power Key at the same time for about 10 seconds until you enter Recovery Mode. You may see the Honor logo or a menu with options such as “Welcome to Honor” or “Fastboot”.
* In Recovery Mode, you will see a menu with various options. Look for “Wipe data/factory data” and select it.
* Follow the prompts to confirm that you want to erase all user data and reset the phone to its factory settings. This process can take a few minutes.
* Restart your phone in regular mode when the reset is complete.
Note: Make sure to back up any important data before resetting your phone, as all data will be lost during the reset process.
2. Using a computer and the “Honor Mobile Assistant” software:
* Install the Honor Mobile Assistant software on your computer and connect your phone to the computer via USB cable.
* Open the Honor Mobile Assistant and go to the “ Backup & Restore” tab. Click on “Factory Reset”.
* Follow the prompts to confirm that you want to reset the phone to its factory settings.
* Restart your phone in regular mode when the reset is complete.
Note: Make sure to follow the instructions provided by Honor Mobile Assistant carefully to avoid damaging your phone.
3. Using a computer and the “Honor PC Suite” software:
* Install the Honor PC Suite software on your computer and connect your phone to the computer via USB cable.
* Launch the Honor PC Suite software and go to the “ Backup & Restore” tab. Click on “Factory Reset”.
* Follow the prompts to confirm that you want to reset the phone to its factory settings.
* Restart your phone in regular mode when the reset is complete.
Note: Make sure to follow the instructions provided by Honor PC Suite carefully to avoid damaging your phone.
4. Using the “Clear User Data” option in Settings App:
* Go to Settings > General > Backup & Reset.
* You may be prompted to enter your PIN, but ignore it.
* Tap on “Clear user data”.
* Select “Yes – erase all data” to confirm that you want to erase all user data and reset the phone to its factory settings.
* Restart your phone in regular mode when the reset is complete.
Note: This method may not work for all versions of the Honor X40 GT, and it’s not recommended if you need to recover important data as it will permanently delete all data on the device.
